Assignment 2 - Librarians

I think that librarians spend a lot of time organizing books and trying to provide resources for students. I think that as education levels increase the amount of work a librarian has to do increases. In elementary schools librarians just have to help kids find books and make sure they are put back in the same place. In middle school the books start becoming more sophisticated and the library is bigger so the librarians have to spend more time organizing and making sure that the books get placed in the correct place because more important books are checked out. I think high school librarians have it the hardest though. When kids are in high school they are really talkative and loud and as much as the librarians want the kids to enjoy their time in the library, they have to meet everyone’s needs. They have to try to keep the noise down for the kids that go in to study and do homework. They have to make sure they know where to locate all of the books and keep them organized. In college there is so much more information and literature that needs to be kept track of that the job because far more intense – in my opinion. They don’t have to deal with as many obnoxious high school students, but it’s not like all college kids truly act mature. In college I feel like librarians have the same responsibilities as the librarians in high school, but it is far more intensified because the library is a central place for research when you reach college. I think it would be really cool if all librarians taught students on plagiarism like the librarians in this program do! I think in the future librarians will be replaced with technology though, everything is being replaced with technology, it’s only a matter of time before technology replaces everything..

Assignment Number 1

When I go to college I hope to study something in the medical field. I still haven’t exactly decided what I want to do, I just know that I want to help people and aid in saving lives. Some careers that interest me are being a doctor, a nurse practitioner, a pediatrician, or an anesthesiologist. These all interest me primarily because I want to make a difference in the world, even if it’s in just a couple people’s lives, I’d like to know that I made a difference. I also am interested in the health field because I find science really interesting and to be able to use that in my everyday work life would really fulfill me. I want to be fortunate enough to be able to provide for a family when I am older, while also being able to say I’m happy with my job. I feel really confident that I will be able to get a job in the medical field that will allow me to provide for my family and it’ll be a job I’m happy with doing. I feel confident about it because I know I am a hard worker and that I am capable of doing it, but I also feel like the pre collegiate program will be extremely useful in helping me meet my desires. I think the pre collegiate program will help me primarily because it focuses on health careers. I think it will help me find a profession that fits my interests perfectly. I also think that the classes I will be taking in college will require me to work hard and step up my work ethic, and the courses I am taking with the Pre Collegiate program will prepare me for success. When I retake these courses in college I will have a better understanding o f these classes, if I take the same classes, or I will just be more ready for a challenging class.
